Crime Fiction Novels for Christmas ... Check it out at www.booked.tv!

Want a great crime fiction novel to read over the holiday season or desperately looking for one to give as a gift ... search no further.

There are two crime fiction novels that were highly recommended to me that I thought you might want to check out.

The first ... Ian Rankin's newest Inspector Rebus novel - Exit Interview. This is supposed to be the last one of the series ... but from the buzz I'm getting from everyone who's read it is that there better be another one! (For those of you who don't know who Ian Rankin is, he's the UK's #1 best-selling crime fiction author ... with a sexy accent to boot ;-) ).

Here's a little teaser:

It's late autumn in Edinburgh and late autumn in the career of Detective Inspector John Rebus. As he tries to tie up some loose ends before retirement, a murder case intrudes. A dissident Russian poet has been found dead in what looks like a mugging gone wrong. By apparent coincidence a high-level delegation of Russian businessmen is in town, keen to bring business to Scotland. The politicians and bankers who run Edinburgh are determined that the case should be closed quickly and clinically. But the further they dig, the more Rebus and his colleague DS Siobhan Clarke become convinced that they are dealing with something more than a random attack - especially after a particularly nasty second killing. Meantime, a brutal and premeditated assault on local gangster 'Big Ger' Cafferty sees Rebus in the frame. Has the Inspector taken a step too far in tying up those loose ends? Only a few days shy of the end to his long, inglorious career, will Rebus even make it that far?

BONUS: Click here to listen to an exclusive podcast with Ian Rankin on Booked.tv. Trust me ... it'll be worth your time ... the man is funny!

The second book that you should check out is Rick Mofina's newest crime fiction novel - A Perfect Grave. Not only does it look like a REALLY good read ... but he's Canadian. There's a good enough reason right there!

Here's a little teaser to sink your mind into:

Perfect Grave is the third installment in Rick Mofina's internationally acclaimed new series featuring rookie crime reporter Jason Wade of The Seattle Mirror. In A Perfect Grave, Wade, a troubled loner from the wrong side of the tracks, pursues the story of a murdered Seatle nun. The case leads him to a hermit nun who founded a mysterious religious order; and ultimately to the dark secret that has tormented his ex-cop father for decades. It culminates in a life and death struggle against the clock. With time running out, Jason and his father battle the odds to confront a terrible truth. Catch this heart-pounding thrill ride of a series and discover why Mofina, a former reporter and two-time winner of the Arthur Ellis Award, counts James Patterson, Dean Koontz, Michael Connelly, David Morrell, Sandra Brown and Kay Hooper among those who have praised his books.

That's all for me right now. Merry shopping ;-)

Kathy Reichs audio podcast just for you ...

Ok, I admit it. I'm a shameless plugger of the Booked.tv website created by the independent production company I work for - Reel Girls Media. But I honestly can't help myself because I am so proud of this site and I actually think you will want to check out this podcast by Kathy Reichs - our featured crime fiction novelist. ;-)

If you haven't heard of Kathy Reichs ... she is a bestselling crime fiction novelist, forensic anthropologist, and producer of the primetime TV series Bones that airs on Fox. Kathy talks about the importance of ensuring forensic accuracy in her novels, why crime fiction is such a desirable genre, and the difference between writing novels and working in television.

Kathy is famous for her series of novels on the fictional character Dr. Temperance Brennan - the wry, impassioned director of forensic anthropology for the province of Quebec. Her first novel in the series - Deja Dead - has just been re-released in a 10th anniversary edition. Here's a little snippet on what it's about:

Dr. Temperance Brennan is driven to unravel shocking acts of violence by reading the bones of the dead. NP In the year since Tempe left behind a shaky marriage in North Carolina, work has often preempted her weekend plans to explore Quebec. But when an unidentified female corpse is discovered meticulously dismembered and stashed in garbage bags, Tempe detects an alarming pattern within the grisly handiwork -- and her professional detachment gives way to a harrowing search for a killer in the city's winding streets. With little help from the police, Tempe calls on her expertise, honed in the isolated intensity of the autopsy suite, to investigate on her own. But her determined chase is about to place those closest to her -- her best friend and her daughter -- in mortal danger....

Dunn ... dunn ... dunn! :-) Interested in checking it out?? Please check the Booked.tv website on Monday by clicking here.

If you are already well aware of Kathy and this series ... we also have her latest novel - Bones to Ashes - available to purchase through our Booked.tv website by clicking here. For your convenience ... here's what it's about:

Temperance Brennan, like her creator Kathy Reichs, is a brilliant, sexy forensic anthropologist called on to solve the toughest cases. But for Tempe, the discovery of a young girl's skeleton in Acadia, Canada, is more than just another assignment. Évangéline, Tempe's childhood best friend, was also from Acadia. Named for the character in the Longfellow poem, Évangéline was the most exotic person in Tempe's eight-year-old world. When Évangéline disappeared, Tempe was warned not to search for her, that the girl was "dangerous."

Thirty years later, flooded with memories, Tempe cannot help wondering if this skeleton could be the friend she lost so many years ago. And what is the meaning of the strange skeletal lesions found on the bones of the young girl?

Meanwhile, Tempe's beau, Ryan, investigates a series of cold cases. Three girls dead. Four missing. Could the New Brunswick skeleton be part of the pattern? As Tempe draws on the latest advances in forensic anthropology to penetrate the past, Ryan hunts down a serial predator.

www.booked.tv - Check out this website if you are a crime fiction novel addict!

After starting an internship with a production company based out of Edmonton, Alberta CANADA called Reel Girls Media Inc., I quickly fell in love with one of their interactive media sites called BOOKED.TV --> http://www.booked.tv/

Now, you may be thinking oh yeah, this girl is just out to try and generate business for a company she works with and she really doesn't find it personally interesting. Not true at all! I really genuinely like this site. It's filled with podcasts, webisodes, author chats, and lots of other great stuff for people who love crime fiction novels - including me!

I really liked the selection of books. They cover a broad range of different crime fiction topics and authors.

I also really liked the webisodes. They are short little clips, only 2-3 minutes long, with interesting details about crime scene investigation from people working in the field in Canada. Take a couple of minutes to check them out and tell me if you agree.
